Suicide Birds in India

In North Eastern part of India birds commit suicide! It all happens in a 1.5 km long and around 200 meters wide strip of field area. They are maybe not suicidal since their behavior may be attributed to heavy rains and floods and submergence of their natural habitat. The local villagers light torches which attract the birds and then strike violently with bamboo pole to kill and eat them. If the causes of this mystery is not found very soon we may certainly lose some of the most precious species of our feathered friends. The phenomenon not only deserves to be made known worldwide, but it deserves deeper scientific studies.
